Privacy Policy
In short, for parents
- We collect no personal data — not from children, not from parents.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking, no accounts.
- Profiles, progress and settings stay on your device only.
- The camera is never used.
- Recording a parent’s voice and adding family photos are optional, off by default, turned on only by a parent — and stay on the device.
- Purchases and links are behind a parental gate; payments are handled by Google Play.
Who we are
Tiki Turtle is made by Gamma Nest, the kids’ studio of GAMMA IT SOLUTIONS, SRL, Republic of Moldova (IDNO 1025600055699), registered address: MD-2001, str. Melestiu, 26/10, ap. 105, mun. Chișinău. You can reach us at [email protected].
Data we do not collect
We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, location, contacts, device identifiers or advertising IDs. The app contains no third-party advertising, analytics or attribution SDKs, and it does not send usage statistics anywhere.
What is stored on your device
To make the games work, the app keeps a few things locally on your device only: child profiles (a first name or nickname, age — saved as a birth year — and the colour of Tiki’s shell), game progress and stickers, a list of the games you have bought (so that they also work offline), and app settings such as language, sound and music, day and night, and screen-time limits. This information never leaves the device and we cannot see it.
Parent voice recordings and photos (optional)
In the parent zone, behind the parental gate, there is a “Voice & photos” tab. It is off by default; nothing is recorded or added until a parent turns it on there. With it a parent can:
- Record their own voice: a lullaby of up to 3 minutes for the “Good Night” game and short animal names (up to 10 seconds each) for “Farm Sounds”. Recording starts only when the adult presses “Record”.
- Add family photos: up to 4 photos for a hide-and-seek game, chosen one at a time with the system’s own file picker. The app gets only the photo you pick, not your whole gallery. It keeps a reduced copy (no larger than 1024 pixels) and removes all metadata, including EXIF and location. Without photos the game uses toys instead.
- Let “Tiki’s Music” hear sound: a separate switch. The microphone then only measures how loud a sound is, so an instrument can react to clapping or singing; nothing is recorded or saved.
Recordings and photos are shared by all child profiles on the device. They are stored only inside the app’s private storage on your device, are never uploaded, sent to us or shared with anyone, and there is no cloud copy. The “Delete all recordings and photos” button in the same tab erases every recording and photo and turns the feature off; uninstalling the app erases them too. The app never uses the camera.
Device permissions
- Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO): requested by the system only when an adult presses “Record” in the parent zone, or turns on the microphone for “Tiki’s Music”. If you decline, the rest of the app works as usual.
- Photos: no gallery permission is requested; the system’s own file picker gives the app only the photo you select.
- Camera, location, contacts: never requested.
- Internet and Google Play Billing: used only to buy games and restore purchases through Google Play. The app downloads and uploads nothing else: the games, pictures, voices and music are all inside the app.
Purchases
The app can be downloaded for free; additional games are one-time purchases. Payments are handled entirely by Google Play under Google’s own terms and privacy policy. We do not receive your payment details. The only network connection the app makes is to Google Play to process and restore purchases. The only link in the app — to this privacy policy, in the parent zone behind the parental gate — opens in your web browser.
Children’s privacy
Tiki Turtle is designed for children aged 1 to 5 and their parents. We follow the principles of the US Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including its rules for children: we do not collect personal data from children, there is no behavioural advertising, and purchases, settings and external links are placed behind a parental gate that a young child cannot pass.
Third parties
- Google Play — processes payments and app distribution under Google’s privacy policy.
- Stability AI — some sound effects in the app were created with Stable Audio Open (Powered by Stability AI). It is only a tool we used to make sounds; Stability AI receives no data about you or your child.
Deleting data
You can delete a child profile in the parent zone, delete all voice recordings and photos with “Delete all recordings and photos” in the “Voice & photos” tab, or delete all data by uninstalling the app. Since we store nothing on our side, there is nothing else to delete.
Security
Because no personal data leaves your device, it is protected by your device’s own security. Keep your device updated and use a screen lock.
Summary for the Google Play “Data safety” section
- Data collected: none.
- Data shared with third parties: none.
- Audio and photos: optional parent recordings and chosen photos are processed and stored only on the device and never transmitted, so under Google Play’s definitions they are not “collected” or “shared”.
- Payments: processed by Google Play; we do not receive payment details.
- Encryption in transit: the app does not transmit personal data; its only network connection is to Google Play Billing, which uses Google’s encrypted connection.
- Deleting data: all data is on the device — delete a profile in the parent zone or uninstall the app.
- Families: designed for children; no ads and no third-party SDKs.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will publish the new version on this page with a new date and version number. If a change ever affects what data the app handles, we will update the app’s description in Google Play before the change takes effect.
